Activating
SMART mode:
- Set receiver ST7700 to stand-by
mode, where only one LED dot lit on the front panel.
- Hold front panel left side
"POWER" button for over few seconds, it will display "S1t1"
then "----", which means Sat1-xpdr1, and no signal yet.
- Use front panel right side
"Chan down" to change Sat number, and "chan up" to change
xpdr number, these are corresponding to what you programmed
in memory, the default S1t1 is xpdr of MSTV(MACTV)-Taiwan,
a very strong vertical; xpdr, great for first time aiming
for T5 satellite.
- It will give steady red
light on the SL-1000 SMART-eye LNBF, when your dish get
very close to T5, it will blink. If aim right on T5 then
the led light goes off. If you aimed at DSS satellite
like GE-1(directv)103W, it will blink fast, so you know
you are probably on the wrong sat, only Steady LIght goes
off means you are right on the xpdr you chose in the previous
step.
- Exit out of "SMART mode"
by pressing remote control, or front panel "Power" buttton
again.
Front Freq/PID
display mode:
- If ST7700 powered on, hit
power key to let it go to "stand-by", you should see one
dot on front panel.
- Press front panel "ch-up"
once
- Press "ch-down" 3 times
- Press "ch-up" 4 times
- Press "ch-down" once
Now you should see the banner
rotates on front panel with "Freq", Sr--", "Vpid", "Apid",
"Ppid", press any key on front panel or remote to exit out
of the PID display mode. This is most useful in headend situation
where you have say 10pcs of ST7700 showing 10 different channels,
without remote and TV screen, you can verify what is on what
channel.
Since there is only 4 digit display on front
panel, but sometimes freq and SR are 5 digit, here is the
designation, using decimal point to show the MSD a "1" or
"2" or "0".
- The first digit decimal
is always used for showing "signal locked" status, under
any display
- The 4th digit decimal means
Most Significant Display a "1", for example "2084.", means
freq=12084
- The 3rd digit decimal means
Most Significant Display a "2", e.g., "315.0" means Sr=23150
- If there is no decimal dot
in 3rd or 4th digit positions, e.g., "7232" meaning Sr=07232.
