Quick Tips for first time buyer to get dvr view from your cellphone

  1. set your DVR admin password ( you also can create extra new group, new user, from permission section)
  2. set up date, time and zone
  3. set up network ip or auto detect it, keep port 4520, change web port 80 to 8080 (port 80 is for web port , but cable company block it for preventing you from having a web server broadcast from home, 8080 is your private working port example. you can set it with any number other than those default ports for web, email, ftp,  if you want to use IE to test your internal network to view your dvr from PC, then you will type http://your dvr ip:8080,   type it like this ( if you still prefer default port 80, then no need to type the :8080 )
  4. setup ddns name ( how to get the ddns name: go samsung ipolis web to register your new account as the ddns name, register your dvr model SDR-5102, download your cellphone apps: ipolis , install on your iphone or android phone )
  5. router port forwarding: from your admin router setting, use port forwarding, set TCP 4520, TCP 8080 point to your dvr ip address. if not sure it is working or not, then point TCP/UDP 4520, TCP/UDP 8080 both port to the dvr ip ( if you have 2 Samsung dvr , point 4520, 4521, then set control port 4520 to 1st dvr ip, 4521 to 2nd dvr ip)
  6. test your app,  app needs ddns name you registered, the id and password (it is the dvr user name and password)
  7. you should see the camera from your cellphone now,  beside those basic setup, you will need to define more detail of your desired dvr and cameras settings, motion area map, please go thru step by step for the detail of each section
  8. if you forgot the admin password you just set, please search it from web, the correct steps is by pressing  remote frxxze, alxxm, retxxn pads in a combination sequence to set it back to default, for security reason, we seller are not able to answer this kind of question.  you also can contact Samsung official support website samsungsv for their official answer.
